My life changed

Long time no speak, yes that's correct, but really lots of things happened:
- I got my Master degree on Marketing & Sales (MARS)
- I became father of Tobias (It's just great to be a father !)
- I moved place to Langenlois
and this is not all ...

As a result, I'm breaking one of the blogging-rules to always keep the content up-to-date and to keep on posting. It'll be quite for some time now, but I'll keep on updating Flickr with some nice shots from time to time.

The last ten days were tough: learning, learning, learning, learning - for a one-hour action on Tuesday. Sales, Marketing and Business Administration - and my thesis.

Looks like the return from Mars is coming closer and closer. June 21st is now the final date for the re-entry into the Earth orbit. By then I hope that I can enjoy much more of these beautiful sunsets, taken near Rastenfeld, Lower Austria, Waldviertel.

Czech exam passed - yeah. So it's just the final marketing & sales exam in June which is between now and Fall this year - where I'll move out from Vienna to the nice little city called Langenlois. Langenlois is famous for its vine, especially white ones like Gruener Veltliner or Riesling are among the best of the world. But Langenlois is also a great cycling place, with lots of great road and MTB-tours. The picture shows the Riesling-Downhill - a part of the XC-race there. I had to pause the last 2 years because of my return from Mars. Don't panic!

Czech Diploma exam

Ahoj pratele,

v Sobotu mate Czech Diploma exam. Ucit se Cesky je velice zajimavy ! Really, it's lot of fun. But you need to make sure that you have a good ucitelka (teacher-F). Anyway, as already said, it's over on Saturday this week and I'm really looking forward to that date.
This is one of the asteriods on the way back from Mars, but it's not really a big one.

The winter will soon end - and so will my work on the thesis. It'll be completely finished during this week. If I look back, I never wanna be in the same position again, that I have the thesis topic, an idea about my methodology, a view sources, and 5 pages.
My thesis is about mobile music, i.e. bringing iTunes and Napster to the mobile phone, with a little help of Ericsson. Taking your forward.

Thesis countdown

Deadline: April 4, 2005
Current stage: I did all of the interview except for one.
The theory part is completely ready
Missing:
- results of interviews
- merge interviews with findings so far
- draw conclusions
- provide outlook
This should be ready by March 6!

Finalizing my thesis

Not much to blog these days. I'm pretty busy with my thesis. It has be be ready by the end of March and I'm just about to write the two last chapters. I write about Mobile Music - not ringtones, but full-length audio downloads - and it's really challenging. I wonder how Apple will evolve into that area, but I think the deal with Motorola was just to bring iTunes to the phone - nothing more. In the meantime, Sonyericsson announced something interesting, a revival of the world-famous Walkman.
Will the all-new walkman fight the iPods and all the other new stuff? Well, certainly it's still a big brand but the question is whether Sony will do it right.
I've seen the Sony Connect Music Service but once you're into iTunes you won't like that much. I have the feeling that Sony is really something for the techies in us. Well, there are certainly lots of them around but being a techie means also to be forgiving for some things that this funny little thingy won't do. Like the simple fact that I can't transfer a recorded interview from a Sony Net-MD walkman via USB. I had to record the whole stuff using an audio cable to be able to work in it via a computer.
I briefly thought about buying an iPod and an iMic, cause this would have been perfect for recording the interviews (for my thesis!). But I thought I'll wait for the iPod with the integrated mobile phone - which will certainly come, we simply don't know when. Instead, I bought myself a nice little iPod shuffle, which was perfect during it's first uses in the Vienna underground or during running on the evening.

Why returning from Mars?

Mars is supposed to be the planet where mankind is going to be next. However, I rather believe that this is the first real extraterrestrial program. Mars is a beautiful planet. Mars is the planet of my zodiac and it also relates to my name. But I'm not into wars. Don't really know what he's doing there again, and today talking about Iran. Anyway, I'm not gonna talk about how to make the world better. Of course - people should live in peace.

Get back to Mars, but let's look at Titan first. What a great thing. Huygens landed there and brought nice pictures. A remarkable thing what happened there.

But another thing happened in 2005 already: one of my friends (she was just 25!) died in a car crash last week. Life is unfair - she was really such a good women. She had personality and she was really, let's say ein echt guter Mensch ...

Anyway, back to Mars. This is where I come from - but I'll return, by June 2005 - eventually!
